Fitter

A Fitter is one who fits, assemble structural frame works and housing from materials such as steel plates, angel iron, sheet metals, etc. with hand tools, using convectional machines like Lathens, Drilling machine, Die, Hydraulic press machines, Shearing machines, shaping machines etc. with the desired specifications, a fitter is taught about the fundamental principles of fitting, Drilling, Taping, riveting, making of nuts and bolts, manufacturing of different hand tools like bench vice, dividers, scriber, hammer, etc. framing of different sheet metal work and others, a fitter is a skilled and semi skilled technicians with adequate knowledge and skill and would be in charge of production maintenance and control.

Scope of a fitter is exemplary, with requirements from countries like Middle East, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and several European nations, in the local front they will be offered jobs by premier organizations like Defense, Indian Air force, Railways, Research institutes, Hal, NAL, BEML, BHEL, MICO, TOYOTA, KIRLOSKAR etc. however they are in much demand in the Automobile, steel and other production industries.

They can become class-1 contractors by obtaining a valid license on their trade certificates.
