1. To strengthen research, development and consultancy work in various areas of Mechanical Engineering.
2. To augment continuing education / training program in various fields of Mechanical Engineering for working professionals from industries and teachers of various Engineering Colleges.
3. To make available to the Industries / Institutions the Infrastructure facilities existing in the Department.
4. To make available to the Industries / Organizations the results of the innovative work carried out in the Department.
5. To Establish Linkages with Research Organizations and Industries at National and International Level.
6. To augment Disseminate the Knowledge and Research findings through Technical papers presented and published in conferences/seminars/journals at the National and International Level.
7. To augment develop learning resource materials, such as Monographs, Transparencies, Film Demonstration Models to supplement class room teaching.
8. To organize programs conducive to Technical and Intellectual Advancement of students and also help in developing overall personality of students.
9. To organize programs related to career Guidance, Challenges in “Engineering and Technology”, and Entrepreneurship.
10. To undertake extension work and appraise people in rural areas about the developments and applications in the field of Mechanical Engineering.
